Rainbow Mountain Tour

The Rainbow Mountain tour is an exciting expedition that takes you through breathtaking scenery to one of the most amazing places in Peru. Departing from Cusco, the journey takes you through picturesque Andean villages until you reach the base of the mountain. From there, you embark on a hike that takes you through dreamlike landscapes, where the land is transformed into a palette of vibrant colors. When you reach the top, the panoramic view of the Montaña de Colores will take your breath away. It is a unique experience that connects you with the natural beauty and majesty of the Peruvian Andes.

This epic adventure with Riqchary Cusco begins at 4:00 a.m. We will pick you up from your accommodation in our private transportation and travel three hours to the South Valley of Cusco. Along the way, you will be able to rest in the comfortable transportation and enjoy a delicious continental breakfast.

Our journey will take us through picturesque Andean villages, Inca agricultural terraces, fertile valleys and impressive mountains. We will arrive at Llacto (4,630 m / 15,190 ft), the starting point of our trek, and begin to follow a meandering stream through the mountains. As we ascend, you will enjoy the view of the majestic Ausangate Mountain (6,372 m / 20,905 ft).

On the way, you will meet local people working the land and wearing traditional clothing made with ancestral techniques. Your guide will explain the meaning of some of the garments and, if you wish, teach you some Quechua words.

After an hour and a half hike, we will arrive at the impressive Rainbow Mountain (5,100 m / 16,732 ft). You will have time to admire its beauty and explore the surroundings. Then, we will continue to the fascinating Red Valley (5,050 m / 16,568 ft), a place of astonishing beauty and tranquility.

We will descend for two hours to the starting point, passing Andean communities and llama herds. If you are lucky, you will see some vicuñas. Finally, we will head to a restaurant in Cusipata to enjoy a buffet lunch before returning to Cusco, where we will drop you off at your accommodation to rest after an incredible day.
